The life of an Artist
I was born and raised in the West Midlands and spent all of my younger years copying favourite sci-fi book covers by the light of the calor gas heater. When I was finally proclaimed an adult I pursued an art education at Stourbridge College of Art and Design and in the late 80’s that led to a long career in graphic design. Many eventful years later I opened a fine art gallery showcasing Black Country artists which not only refocussed my own art but opened up the door to teaching what I loved.
I work in many mediums including Acrylic, Oils, Watercolour, pencils and digital looking to a wide array of subject matter… everything from fairy’s to dragons and landscapes to portraits. I want to paint the world both as I see it and at times how I wish it were, and that is how I teach it.
I am a successfully published artist with past clients including Pyramid Posters, Nemesis Now, and I have had work published in ImagineFX and produced a number of sci-fi book sleeve covers for UK and international authors and publishers.
I have been teaching adults in the community for over twelve years and alongside this I work on private commissions and commercial freelance projects from my busy studio in the West Midlands. If you would like to join the growing network of people that support my courses and personal project World War Fae then why not become a patron of my art over on my Patreon page which you can find out more about here.
